Enyimba International FC have canceled a transfer agreement with Tunisian club, Esperance, over the services of Kingsley Sokari.
Both clubs struck a deal in June, permitting the Nigeria international midfielder to switch to Tunis after the 2015 Fifa U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
“Esperance have shown that they are not to be trusted,” Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu said.
“The time we gave them to pay the player’s transfer fee has since elapsed, but we kept on giving them a period of grace.
“But we can wait no more and so we have decided to cancel the agreement we have with them.
“We will write them officially to that effect.”
Enyimba had given Esperance a time frame to provide the fee involved in Sokari’s deal upon completion of transfer formalities, after which the six-time Nigerian champions were due to forward the International Transfer Certificate to the Tunisia Football Federation.
But over one month after, the North African club have backed out on their part of the agreement.Sokari has since returned back to the country and is currently training with the Nigeria U-23 National team ahead of a do-or-die reverse qualifying match away to Congo for the Africa U-23 Championship.
He missed the first leg in Port-Harcourt on 19 June because of the transfer commitments.
