MC Galaxy – “I Charge N3.5m For Shows”

galx
South South singer, MC Galaxy has claimed that he receives and charges as high as N3.5m for shows.

In a recent interview, the singer that was beaten by Davido, disclosed that his charges differ in personalities and clients as he won’t charge students the same way he would charge government bodies or agencies.
It depends because you cannot charge a student the same way you will charge a politician. Presently, I accept N3.5m from corporate organisations… And my album, Breakthrough tells the story of how I used to be paid N2000 to perform at comedy clubs and now, I collect big money.’
Speaking further, MC Galaxy doused fears over perceived feud between himself and pop star, Davido saying true friends have disagreements and makeup afterwards.
Though the comedian c*m singer says he’s not willing to have a baby outside wedlock like many of his colleagues, he says he enjoys the company of ladies, thus, he loves hanging out with ladies.

Emmanuel Adebayor’s Brother Fires Back, Says “I Never Stole 26 Phones”

ade-b
The Adebayor family drama doesn’t seem like it’s going to end soon.

Just weeks ago, Togolese football star, Emmanuel Adebayor took to Facebook to expose his family for trying to ruin his life.
One of those people was his brother Rotimi Adebayor who he accused of stealing  his valuables and even phones from a football Academy in France.
In a new interview with Sun, Rotimi tells his side of the story: –
Are the allegations levelled against you untrue?
I have my own story as well but ‘Omo ti owo e o ti te eeku ida ko gbodo bere iku ti o pa baba re’ (A child who is yet to take control of the sword should not seek reasons for his father’s death)
But you have apologized to him; did he accept your plea?
No response from him yet. I apologised because he is my elder brother and we have resolved so settle issues amicably. My elder sister advised us to bury the hatchet.
You met him at a training pitch yesterday (Thursday, May 21)…
Yes, we met and he said, ‘Omo Iya ba wo ni’ (My brother how are you). However, I didn’t play with them because I wasn’t in the mood.
And you didn’t wait for him after the training.
No, I was there till he left but he didn’t greet me as he drove off.
He is a superstar indeed?
I agree, yes he is
And you annoyed him so much that he made such revelations about you?
Hmh! I can’t explain what happened
But you know what happened to the missing 21 phones including play station games from 27 players?
(Smiles) No, 26 players excluding me. ‘Mi o kin se ole’ (I am not a thief)
Is it because you cannot steal your own phone?
‘Mi o ji mobile phone, Mo ri he ni’ (I didn’t steal any mobile phone. I fortuitously found them and picked)
How did it happen and when?
It was at the FC Metz football Academy in France and I was 14 years old then. My mates were already at the training pitch on that day, so I was running to meet up with them when I found the mobile phone on the aisle within the training complex.
So you picked it and didn’t declare that you found a mobile phone, which belongs to your teammate.
That was the mistake I made and I regretted it thereafter. Actually I kept it on the table in my room and my roommate wanted to know who owns the phone because he didn’t have any then. I told him how I found it, and then he demanded to make use of it.
What’s his name?
Kelvin. He is an American and the owner of the phone is from Asia but from an ‘Arab country’ The ‘Arab’ boy saw the phone with Kelvin and immediately reported the case to the management of the academy.
They informed my brother about it. He called me to hear my side of the story but I was later informed to pack my things out of the academy.
Your brother has released three posts on Facebook to paint a bad picture of the family?
It’s really disheartening that such a thing is happening to us right now. My wife was mocked at the market after the first post Seyi (Emmanuel Adebayor) published on Facebook. She called me to inform me about what people are saying. Immediately I logged in and read the post. I felt very sad.
What did you do thereafter?
I called him and asked him why he had to do that but he got angry with me. We had a heated argument on phone, which led to unprintable words being used freely. As a matter of fact, we quarrelled over the phone for almost two hours.
You hurled insults on your elder brother who made you and the Adebayor family famous?
Yes I did that because I felt very sad and embarrassed. Then he made a decision to inflict more insinuations against me.
How?
He called my phone before he released the second post on Facebook. He asked me to go and read the second posts, which he wanted to release in 30 minutes.
And…
He did in exactly thirty minutes and before I could log into my F acebook account, my friends called me to quickly go and read the second part of my ‘film’.
What film?
The post he released, the second rant against the family. It’s sad because our mother, who poured her blood on our heads, received the greatest insult of her life. A woman who suffered so that we can live a good life is now receiving such a disgraceful accusation.
You mean the witchcraft allegation?
Yes and all those nonsense things he wrote against me and our elder sister in Ghana. Well, we have decided to leave it all in God’s hand. Our mother is a not a witch neither does she practice witchcraft. How can your mother wish you bad luck? I play football as well and I know that players do suffer loss of form. He shouldn’t put the blame on anyone.
He said that he sent a huge amount of money to save Peter’s life but alleged that the family squandered the money?
To be honest, he did. Seyi sent the money but it was judiciously spent to meet his (Peter’s) health needs. He suffered before he died.
Some people in Togo are of the opinion that Peter died as result of the hard substances he used to inhale?
No, he wasn’t into such but he was hooked on ‘Igbo’ (Indian hemp), which affected him mentally. He was such great person who also helped financially to make Seyi achieve his football dream.
And the family didn’t spend the money very well for his rehabilitation?
No, we did but he died. We lost him in 2013. His death and our father’s in 2005 are factors that have affected the family in a big way but I wouldn’t like to be drawn into such issues now.
What happened to Seyi’s home in Ghana?
He has over 50 houses in Lome and currently lives in Didjole. He also has some others in Ghana. He has taken custody of everything.
What about the house he alleged your elder sister rented out?
‘Oro ase ni yen se’ (They are unrealistic words)
Opinions are divided among the citizens of Togo concerning Emmanuel Adebayor’s biological mother?
People can say whatever they like. He is my elder brother and we know we have the same mother. I am less bothered about the rumour going round the city.
You blamed yourself for the lingering crisis in the family. What did you do?
A lot of people do not understand the beginning of this issue but I put the blame on myself because of the boy I wanted to help. His name is Masaudu. He’s from the Republic of Benin. I brought him from the rough side of the border so that he can help us with some domestic work. He grew up with the family and betrayed us. Masaudu cooked up stories for Seyi to believe and he succeeded in destroying our family. He was the one that was sent to inform our mother to pack out of the house. But I believe that God’s judgment will prevail. I will continue to appeal to him (Emmanuel Adebayor) to be considerate in his judgment. I want him to forgive and forget in the memory of our late father and forget what people are telling him. We have our children and we shouldn’t let this issue degenerate into generational fight.

Chimamanda Adichie – “My Dad Was Kidnapped Because Of Me”

chiamamand
The Award winning writer from Nigeria, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has blamed herself for the kidnap of her father, earlier in May 2015.

In a penned piece by the Half Of A Yellow Sun writer which was published in the New York Times, Adichie slightly wrote about her self guilt when her dad, James Nwoye Adichie told her of how the kidnappers instructed him to tell his famous daughter to pay his ransom.
With my father’s release, we all cried, as though it was over. But one thing had ended and another begun. I constantly straddled panic; I was sleepless, unfocused, jumpy, fearful that something else had gone wrong.
‘ And there was my own sad guilt: He was targeted because of me. “Ask your daughter the writer to bring the money,” the kidnappers told him, because to appear in newspapers in Nigeria, to be known, is to be assumed wealthy.
‘The image of my father shut away in the rough darkness of a car boot haunted me. Who had done this? I needed to know,’ she wrote.
However, the writer didn’t leave the Nigerian securities agencies out as she blamed the authorities for the negligence role played after her dad’s kidnap was officially reported.
But ours was a dance of disappointment with the authorities. We had reported the kidnapping immediately, and the first shock soon followed: State security officials asked us to pay for anti-kidnap tracking equipment, a large amount, enough to rent a two-bedroom flat in Lagos for a year. This, despite my being privileged enough to get personal reassurances from officials at the highest levels.
‘How, I wondered, did other families in similar situations cope? Federal authorities told us they needed authorization from the capital, Abuja, which was our responsibility to get. We made endless phone calls, helpless and frustrated. It was as though with my father’s ransomed release, the crime itself had disappeared. To encounter that underbelly, to discover the hollowness beneath government proclamations of security, was jarring,’ she wrote.
Though Adichie’s parents have been ferried to the United States of America following the incident, the writer says the memories would not be leaving her father in a hurry.

US Police Kill More Than Two People A Day, Report Suggests

GG
Data collected by the Washington Post newspaper suggests that the number of people shot by US police is twice as high as official figures claim. The paper said that during the first five months of this year, 385 people – more than two a day – were killed. The number of black people was disproportionately high among the victims, especially unarmed ones. BBC reports:

Official statistics rely on self-reported figures from law enforcement agencies. They suggest about 400 people have been killed each year since 2008. The US has seen a number of controversial cases where unarmed black people have been killed by white police officers.
Police are allowed to use deadly force when they fear for their lives or the lives of others, however there is currently no reliable way of tracking police shooting deaths. Instead, the government relies on self-reported figures from the nation’s 17,000 law enforcement agencies. The figures exclude killings deemed not to have been justified.
The Washington Post says it logged every fatal shooting in 2015 by police in the line of duty using interviews, police reports, local media reports and other sources. It found a homicide rate of almost 2.6 per day so far this year – more than double the average 1.1 deaths per day reported in FBI records over the past decade.
“These shootings are grossly underreported,” former police chief Jim Bueermann told the newspaper. “We are never going to reduce the number of police shootings if we don’t begin to accurately track this information.”

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch Up For Sale At $100M + Neighbors Say Mansion Is Haunted By MJ

mike
World superstar legendary Pop-star’s adorable Neverland ranch hits the market for one hundred million US Dollars but potential buyers are reportedly being warned about the house being haunted by the singer’s ghost.

According to The Mirror, viewers of the mansion have been put off by an alleged ghostly presence in the 2,700 acre estate which the King Of Pop bought in 1987 and lived in for more than 15 years.
“Local people say Jackson’s spirit has been haunting his estate since he died. Investors and visitors considering buying the property are warned that workers on the ranch have claimed the King of Pop haunts the premises,” an estate agent source tells the Daily Star.
Last year, four photographers found their way into the then-abandoned estate and snapped the grounds as it was.
“I remember that vividly, actually. I didn’t find anything that creepy about the whole thing. I found it really odd and different, but I wasn’t scared at any moment. I think none of us were really scared. Mostly we felt like we shouldn’t be invading the privacy of someone else,” one said.

Angela Okorie – “Death Rumor Helped My Career”

okorie
Famous and pretty Nollywood star, Angela Okorie revealed in a new interview how her death rumor boasted her career.

Read excerpts from the interview below: –
On if she have forgiven those behind her death rumor that went viral on social media, Angela said: –
“Yes I have. The thing is that sponsors of such do not realise that such evil campaigns usually turn out a publicity campaign for their victims. I was actually working on set when they started that rumour and suddenly my phone line became inundated with calls. A lot of people were crying and raising concern. And I told them that I was alive and kicking. That death-rumour incident made me to realise how much people loved me. It even made me more popular. The evil peddlers had only added many more years to my life. So, I don’t care about what people say about me.”
On why people put her in controversial stories, the actress said: –
“I wish I knew the reason. All I know is that you don’t have to do any wrong to be hated; everybody must not like you. The truth about life is that if people don’t hate or criticise you, it shows that you are not important. You must be important for people to hate you and try to run you down. But the more people hate you, the more you will progress if you are nice. And for me, I don’t give a hoot about my haters as long as what I am doing is right; I don’t lose sleep over haters.”
On the craziest thing a fan did to her, Angela replied saying: –
It was when I travelled to the US and this fan suddenly walked up to me and kissed me. I was screaming but he just laughed it off and walked away. He was like, ‘now that I have kissed you, what can you do about it?”

African leaders began talks in Tanzania on Sunday in their second summit in a month aimed at restoring peace in Burundi, which has been hit by violent protests over the president’s plan to run for a third term.Reuters reports:

President Pierre Nkurunziza, who faced a coup attempt while in Dar es Salaam for the first summit on May 13, did not attend the meeting. He was represented by the country’s foreign minister, Alain Aime Nyamitwe. The heads of state of Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, which together with Burundi and Rwanda form the East African Community (EAC) common market, attended the summit. They were joined by South African President Jacob Zuma.
Burundi and Rwanda sent foreign ministry officials rather than heads of state, a Tanzanian foreign ministry official said. Tanzania’s foreign minister, Bernard Membe, told reporters regional leaders would seek a solution to the political turmoil in Burundi and discuss the plight of refugees fleeing violence in the east African country.
Nkurunziza’s decision to run for a third term unleashed Burundi’s worst political crisis since an ethnically-driven civil war ended in 2005. Many people fear the violence could lead to renewed ethnic bloodletting between the Hutu and Tutsi communities.

Egypt Demolish Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Party Headquarters

Egypt has begun demolishing the headquarters of the now-dissolved party of former President, Hosni Mubarak. The building in Cairo near Tahrir Square was torched in the 2011 uprising that toppled Mubarak. Demolition workers also began tearing down an office block that was once the centre of state bureaucracy. Egypt’s government approved the move in April and said that the land would be given to the neighbouring Egyptian Museum. BBC was there:

Mubarak’s National Democratic Party (NDP) was dissolved in April 2011 and its assets, including its headquarters on the River Nile, were seized by the state.  The BBC’s Middle East editor Alan Johnston says that those who rose up against Mubarak will certainly welcome the demolition work.
But he says that many will be deeply disappointed that in other, more important ways, their revolution failed to fulfil their expectations. Mubarak was sentenced to three years in jail on corruption charges after a retrial earlier this month.
His original conviction was overturned in January over legal procedures. The former president’s two sons were also given four years in prison in the same case which centres on the embezzlement of $14m (£9.2m) earmarked for renovation of presidential palaces.

Sepp Blatter Is The Victim Of FIFA’s Conspiracy, Daughter Says

BBC
Fifa president Sepp Blatter is the victim of a conspiracy from “behind the scenes”, his daughter has told the BBC amid the corruption crisis gripping world football. “Nobody is without fault but (…) he’s not the person who is taking money,” Corinne Blatter said. Her comments come as key Fifa officials face a string of bribery charges. BBC reports:

Mr Blatter, who has been re-elected as Fifa president, has not been implicated but faces calls to stand down.  Asked whether she thought there was a conspiracy against Mr Blatter – who won re-election as head of world football’s governing body on Friday despite the current crisis – Corinne Blatter said: “I wouldn’t say from the Americans and the British, but certainly people working behind the scenes, yes absolutely.”
She added: “I don’t know if you want to call them dark forces but I mean they really tried hard, they tried in September, October last year. How can Uefa who is saying ‘we are the strongest confederation’, how can they not put up a candidate?” Mr Blatter beat rival Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan on Friday in an election that was overshadowed by arrests and corruption allegations.
In September 2014, Mr Blatter had come under pressure to quit after rejecting calls for a report into alleged World Cup bidding corruption to be made public. Corinne Blatter’s comments came as the head of the English Football Association called on Uefa president Michel Platini to unite Europe behind a collective boycott of the 2018 World Cup. And in further intrigue, South African newspapers reported on Sunday that the nation did pay $10m (£6.5m) to a football association led by a figure at the centre of the Fifa allegations, despite a week of denials.

Son Of US Vice President, Joe Biden Dies Of Brain Cancer At 46

BIDEN
Former Delaware Attorney General, Beau Biden, the son of US Vice-President Joe Biden, has died of brain cancer. The 46-year-old was taken to hospital earlier this month at the Walter Reed Army Medical Centre, near Washington. BBC has more:

Beau Biden was seen as a rising star of US politics but suffered health problems in recent years. He had intended to run for Delaware state governor in 2016. “The entire Biden family is saddened beyond words”, the vice-president said. In a statement, President Barack Obama said: “Michelle [Obama] and I are grieving tonight.”
“Beau was a good, big-hearted, devoutly Catholic and deeply faithful man, who made a difference in the lives of all he touched – and he lives on in their hearts.”
In a Twitter post, former President Bill Clinton wrote: “Hillary & I mourn the loss of Beau Biden – so full of life, love, honor, and service – and we pray for the strength of his wonderful family.”
Beau Biden was diagnosed with brain cancer in August 2013 and underwent treatment that was initially successful. However, the cancer recurred earlier this year.

U.S. Marine Convicted For Refusing To Remove Bible Quote From Her Work Station

screenshot_2918
A U.S. Marine is fighting to overturn her conviction after she refused to remove a Bible verse from her work station.
A religious liberty law firm has filed an appeal on behalf of the marine after she was prosecuted for refusing to remove the Bible verse, which was attached to her computer. Lance Corporal Monifa Sterling was convicted in a court martial after she did not follow the order to remove the small paper with writings of the Bible from her computer. Worldwideweirdnews has more:

Sterling was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, when she taped the slightly altered Bible verse that read: “No weapons formed against me shall prosper.”  Sterling, who is now unemployed and looking for a job, was given a reduction in rank from lance corporal to private as well as a bad conduct discharge.
Attorneys for the marine argued that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act should have been applied to her case.
However, both the trial and appellate court said that the law does not apply to her case because displaying a Bible verse does not constitute religious exercise.
The military judge found Sterling shared a desk with another marine, and the signs were visible to other marines who came to Sterling’s desk for assistance. The court found that her actions can easily be seen as “contrary to good order and discipline,” according to court documents.
