A teenager walked into his mother’s room to find a masked man holding a gun to her head. 18-year-old Malachi Heisler said that he awoke during the night to someone calling his name and screaming for help. The teenager grabbed his assault rifle and walked into his mother’s room to find a man, who was wearing a ski mask, standing over his mother with a gun.
According to Scoop, he said that when the masked man heard him coming into the room, he turned to him and pointed the gun in his direction. “I had about five to six seconds to make a decision,” said Malachi. He shot the man once, killing him, only to learn that it was his father, 46-year-old John Heisler. Police said that John broke into the house to speak to his estranged wife who had a restraining order against him.
The woman was granted the restraining order after another break-in attempt by John, which happened 5 months earlier. John was not only prohibited from going to his wife’s home, but was also banned from possessing weapons. Police are investigating the incident. Malachi is not expected to face any charges. Police found that John had 2 guns.
