A visitor to the Louisville Zoo captured video of a gorilla taking a break to sit down with a zoo visitor and look at cellphone pictures of other primates.
Paul Ross uploaded a video to YouTube showing the western lowland gorilla, Jelani, sitting behind the glass of his enclosure at the Louisville Zoo while a man sitting on the other side of the glass shows him cellphone pictures of other gorillas.
The gorilla watches intently as his fellow primate scrolls through a series of photos and appears to encourage the man to continue swiping.
“The Louisville Zoo works hard to provide Jelani and his group with great nutrition, a stimulating and wide open environment, medicine and a chance and hopefully through awareness and captive breeding they’ll help move this beautiful species off that endangered list,” Ross wrote in the video’s description.
