Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Connor Wickham from Sunderland.

The forward, who understandably was considered surplus to requirement at the Stadium of Light, has penned a five-year deal with the Foxes for an initial fee of £7m, and could rise to £9m depending on his performance.
Wickham joined Sunderland from Ipswich Town in 2011 and signed a new four-year contract with the Black Cats in December.
“I needed a fresh start, I had four years up north and it’s been a bit stop-start,” he told Palace’s official website.
He made 91 appearances for the Tyne side outfit, scoring 15 goals, six of which he bagged last season as the coach DickAdvocaat side scraped through relegation.

Wickham is Palace’s fourth signing of the summer, after goalkeeper Alex Mccarthy, midfielder Yohan Cabaye and striker Patrick Bamford, who has joined from Premier League champions Chelsea on loan.
Advocaat will not be shot of options on the frontline with Steven Fletcher, Danny Graham and Jermain Defoe still in his squad.
